**Position Overview**
The Director of External Relations is responsible for managing the company’s relationships with government authorities, regulators, and key stakeholders across the EU region. The role ensures regulatory alignment, licensing readiness, and positive public engagement to support market entry and sustainable operations.
This position acts as the primary interface between the company and external institutions, safeguarding compliance while enabling business growth.
**Key Responsibilities**
***Government & Regulatory Affairs***
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local, regional, and national government authorities
- Monitor regulatory developments and advise leadership on potential business impact
- Lead licensing procedures, permits, and regulatory approvals required for operations
- Represent the company in meetings, consultations, and public policy discussions
***Compliance & Market Readiness***
- Ensure business operations comply with EU and local regulatory requirements
- Coordinate internally with Legal, Operations, and Compliance teams to address regulatory matters
- Support market entry planning from a regulatory and stakeholder perspective
- Stakeholder & Community Engagement
- Develop partnerships with public institutions, industry associations, and community stakeholders
- Manage external communications related to public affairs and operational matters
- Represent the company in public forums, community engagement, and industry events
***Crisis & Reputation Management***
- Handle sensitive external issues and coordinate responses with internal teams
- Support reputation management and proactive stakeholder communication strategies
**Requirement**
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Public Policy, Political Science, Business, or related fields (Master’s preferred)
- 10+ years experience in public affairs, government relations, regulatory affairs, or external relations
- Experience working within EU regulatory environments
- Strong network within government, transport, or infrastructure sectors is highly preferred
- Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to operate in complex, multi-country regulatory environments
- Fluency in English; additional European languages are a plus
