**Senior Authorised Person (SAP)**
**The Role**
We are seeking an experienced
**Senior Authorised Person (SAP)**
to take a critical role in ensuring safety from the system across HV and LV electrical networks. You will be responsible for the preparation, issue, and cancellation of Safety Documents, leading switching operations, and overseeing safe systems of work in line with company procedures and industry standards.

This role requires strong technical expertise, sound judgement, and proven leadership skills to supervise and mentor Authorised Persons (APs) and Competent Persons (CPs), while liaising closely with Control Engineers and commissioning teams.


**Key Responsibilities**

- Carry out HV and LV switching operations within your level of authorisation
- Apply isolations, earthing, and safety precautions in accordance with written procedures
- Prepare, issue, suspend, and cancel Safety Documents (LVPTW, LOA, HVPTW, SFT)
- Write, review, and implement Switching Schedules
- Lead and supervise working parties during electrical works
- Conduct “Prove Dead” procedures prior to commencement of work
- Ensure clear demarcation and identification of work areas
- Liaise with Control Engineers for system release and restoration
- Escalate hazards, defects, and abnormal conditions appropriately
- Confirm system readiness for energisation and safe handover
- Coordinate with Control Engineers and Testing Teams during commissioning
- Conduct energisation readiness reviews and sign off Power On Requests
- Maintain accurate logs, records, and control documentation
- Carry out toolbox talks and routine audits to promote compliance
- Support the Authorising Engineer in assessing and mentoring new SAP, AP, and CP candidates

**Requirements**

- Extensive experience working on HV and LV electrical networks
- Current written appointment as a Senior Authorised Person (SAP)
- Strong knowledge of switching schedules, isolation procedures, and safety rules
- Familiarity with industry standards and safety documentation (e.g. EN 50110-1)
- Proven supervisory, mentoring, and leadership experience
- Recognised electrical engineering qualification or equivalent practical experience
