**Description of the workplace**
At the Division of Clinical Genetics, Department of Laboratory Medicine, we are seeking a project assistant who will work within a research project aimed at developing new antibody-based treatment strategies for blood cancers.
The project focuses on using antibodies to selectively target blood cancer cells. A particular focus is on linking antibodies to so-called protein degraders, such as PROTAC-like molecules, to enable targeted degradation of proteins that are essential for the growth and survival of blood cancer cells.
The research group is led by Professor Thoas Fioretos and consists of approximately ten members with expertise in advanced flow cytometry, single-cell analysis, bioinformatics, antibody technology, as well as experimental in vitro and in vivo models. The group is international, works in a multidisciplinary manner, and has established collaborations with other research groups, healthcare, and the life science industry.
We are now looking for a motivated project assistant with an interest in translational cancer research and antibody-based therapy development. The successful candidate is expected to be able to work both independently and in close collaboration with other members of the project.
As a workplace, we value a positive working environment characterised by respect, consideration, and an open, collaborative atmosphere.

**Duties and responsibilities**
You will work as part of a team investigating the effects of different PROTAC-like molecules on blood cancer cells and whether their effects can be enhanced when linked to antibodies that are internalized in the cells. The duties include work with antibodies, protein degraders, internalization assays, cell culture, FACS analyses, and various functional assays.
**Qualifications**
Requirements for the position are:
- A Master’s degree in biomedicine or equivalent with a specialization in antibodies and blood cancer
- Extensive knowledge and documented experience working with various in vitro and in vivo models of blood cancer
- Extensive knowledge and documented experience of laboratory work involving FACS, blood cancer cells, immunological cells, and therapeutic antibodies
- Extensive knowledge and documented experience in evaluating the effects of PROTAC-like molecules linked to antibodies
- Strong and documented ability to work both independently and collaboratively with multiple partners
- Excellent proficiency in Swedish and English
Additional qualifications considered an asset:
- Experience of team-based work in a larger research group focused on the development of antibody-based therapies for blood cancer
- Good ability to write scientific texts and to continuously summarize and present scientific results
**Other**
The position is a fixed-term employment (SÄVA) at full-time (100%), limited to one year, starting on 1 July 2026, or as soon as possible by agreement.
**How to apply**
The position is applied for via the university’s recruitment system. The application must include a personal letter explaining why you are interested in the position and how your qualifications match the requirements. Our academic programs are closely linked with the healthcare system and are firmly anchored in the faculty’s strong research tradition. Our research spans a broad field within experimental preclinical research, near-patient clinical research and health sciences research. The Faculty of Medicine, with its 1,800 employees and 2,700 students in Lund and Malmö, is a knowledge-intensive meeting place for students, teachers and researchers from all over the world.
The Department of Laboratory Medicine is one of six departments at Lund University’s Faculty of Medicine. We conduct leading research, both broad and specialised, within the field of laboratory medicine, focusing on the onset of disease and how we can improve diagnostics and treatment for patients. Some of our strongest areas with world-class research deal with cancer, genetics and blood.
