Mentimeter is an engagement company with a simple goal: to make every leader better. Through interaction, insights and recommendations, its platform helps organizations turn participation into better understanding and stronger performance.
Founded in Stockholm in 2012, Mentimeter is used by 20 million people each month across 1.3 million organizations. At Mentimeter, we believe better leadership starts with listening and that the strongest results are achieved together. That’s why we foster a culture built on curiosity, collaboration and shared ownership. By joining us, you’ll help leaders turn participation into deeper understanding and stronger performance, advancing our ambition to help more than one billion people listen, learn and work better together.
## About the role
As a Product Designer at Mentimeter, you own the experience your team ships and how it fits into the whole: making sure it works, solves a problem people actually have, and holds together as we build more. Millions of leaders use Mentimeter to lead: to make a decision, bring people with them, understand what their organisation actually thinks.
You join at the point where the work gets hardest and most interesting. Mentimeter has grown from one tool into an engagement suite, and making those pieces feel like one experience leaders and organisations can build on is now one of our hardest problems. The payoff is turning a great moment of engagement into results people act on, insight that holds over time, and value that spreads across an organisation, powered by AI that helps leaders see what matters and act on it.
You’ll report to the Design Director for that area and work day to day inside a product team, alongside a Product Manager and Product Engineers. Beyond the team, you’ll work with other competences such as User Research, Analytics, Content Design, Accessibility, Design Systems, Marketing and Sales to understand users and keep the suite coherent.
## What you’ll do
- Design end-to-end experiences across the full development model, from problem framing through shipped and refined iteration: interaction, visual design, usability, prototyping and testing.
- Take an ambiguous problem and leave the room with a clear problem statement, hypotheses and success criteria you can evaluate.
- Ground direction in user evidence. Spend real time with users, read the signal, and read the release data afterwards to know whether anything actually changed.
- Name the trade-offs between user value, usability, coherence and technical constraint instead of letting them sit implicit.
- Design patterns that scale across surfaces and teams, and protect product-wide coherence as the suite grows.
## Who you are
You own the experience, not the handoff. You work from the problem through to what shipped and what it changed, and you treat "did this work for the user?" as part of your job, not someone else's follow-up. You can hold a strong design opinion without needing to win the room, and you’d rather get to the right solution to the right problem than polish the wrong one.
You work through AI as part of how you design, not a tool you reach for occasionally. You use it across research, exploration and execution, you read its output critically rather than ship it, and you hold a real view of where it strengthens the work and where it degrades the experience. Autocomplete is not what we mean.
You treat insight and data as design material, not reporting. You're comfortable close to users and close to the numbers, and you bring the team closer to both.
## This role might not be for you if…
- You use AI only as autocomplete, or steer clear of it, rather than making it part of how you design and solve problems.
- You want the problem handed to you fully framed, with the user need and success criteria already decided.
- You see design as what happens after the real decisions are made.
- You treat research and data as someone else's job.
- You consider the work done when the design ships, rather than when you know whether it changed something for users.
- You want to stay in visual polish and avoid the ambiguity of early product work.
## Requirements
- A portfolio that shows end-to-end product design: problem framing, interaction and visual craft, and shipped outcomes, not only final screens.
- Evidence that you ground design in user research and data, and change direction based on what you learn.
- AI built into how you already work, across research, exploration and delivery.
- Strong product thinking: you frame design decisions in terms of user value, business impact and risk.
- Systems awareness: you design patterns that hold across surfaces and teams.
- Excellent communication, and comfort working independently and in a cross-functional team.

**AI and Hiring at Mentimeter**
At Mentimeter, we believe AI helps us work smarter - but it never replaces the human assessment, curiosity, and personal connection that define our culture and our hiring. We use AI as a sparring partner: to bounce ideas, bring new perspectives, support structure, and make our work more efficient. But the meaning, decisions, and interactions always come from people. AI strengthens our work, but it does not define it. At Mentimeter, we’re not building an AI-driven hiring process - we’re building a people-first culture, where technology helps us listen, learn, and grow together.
**Culture at Mentimeter**At Mentimeter we believe in giving everyone a voice - regardless of who you are. So we build a platform that does just that. Our platform is not only our product but also our organization. A platform where people feel safe, where differences are embraced, a place where you can have fun. We strongly encourage applicants who are people of color, LGBTQ+, women, people with disabilities, and/or formerly incarcerated people, and a college degree is not strictly required. In order to give everyone a voice, we need to be as diverse as our users.
