## **Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?**
The Department of Laboratory Medicine consists of seven divisions in which both research and teaching are conducted. The department is involved in advanced research in both basic and applied research. The Division of Clinical Microbiology conducts multidisciplinary research in infectious diseases that contributes translational knowledge to the development of new diagnostics and treatment methods.
Now the research team of Benedikt Strunz under the Christian Giske research group is looking for a postdoc for a fixed-term position for 2 years extendable to 1 year.
### **Your mission**
As a postdoc, you will study how immunosuppression affects immune functions in the context of viral infections and how that relates to outcome. You will perform integrative multi-omics analyses (including flow cytometry, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics) on both in vitro systems and ex vivo patient samples. You will receive expert guidance in immunology and virology and access to modern equipment to generate this data.
### **Your profile**
To be eligible for employment as a postdoctoral researcher, a PhD or a foreign degree deemed to be equivalent to a Swedish PhD is required. This eligibility requirement must be fulfilled at the latest at the time of the employment decision. Completion of your doctoral degree within the last three years is considered an advantage. If there are special reasons, your degree may have been completed earlier.
In addition, we want you to have documented research expertise and documented research experience in immunology. It is advantageous to have flow cytometry experience and knowledge of innate immunity. It is particularly meritorious to have experience in the analysis of tissue-resident immune cells.
Experience in the methodology for enriching/sorting immune cells as well as analysis of high-parameter flow cytometry and RNA sequencing is particularly meritorious, as is the publication of high-impact research articles in the field of immunology.
As a person, we want you to be creative, productive and have excellent communication skills. You can collaborate but also lead research and communicate ideas. In this recruitment, we place great importance on personal characteristics.
