**Sounds like you?**
You're the person who sees a broken process and fixes it before anyone asks. You think in funnels, investor journeys, and retention curves not because someone told you to, but because that's how your brain works. You're running operations somewhere right now, probably well, but the role is too narrow or the mission doesn't land. Trine will be different.
**The Role**
Trine started as a crowdfunding platform. That's still the majority of our activity and revenue but our new business-line institutional capital is scaling fast. We're a two-sided business: the investment team finds and structures the deals; someone needs to own the machine that funds them. That someone is you.
This is not a commercial leadership role sitting alongside the investment team. It's a platform ownership role that sits behind it. You build and run the channel that makes it as easy as possible for retail investors to find, trust, and keep investing through Trine. You identify and fix operational issues daily with a cross-functional team. You report directly to the CEO.
You'll work closely with Investor Support on investor experience and communication, Portfolio administrator on repayments and reporting, and our Lead Developer on platform development.
**What You'll Own**
- Retail operations end-to-end - from onboarding to repayments
- Investor experience - own every systems bug through to resolution, with support from IT
- Retail investor communications - regular updates and emails, article pipeline for marketing, regulatory notices
- Growth metrics - track investor acquisition, activation, retention; know the numbers, know why they move, act on them
- Loan management for retail investors - loan prioritisation queue, paybacks on time, communication when things don't go to plan
- IT prioritisation - juggle compliance needs, investor needs, borrower needs, and internal product needs into a coherent queue
**What makes it interesting**
The role has a clear purpose but a wide mandate. You shape the how. Trine is 10 people there's no layer between you and the outcome. When you fix the onboarding flow, you see conversion move. When you get repayment communication right, you see retention hold. The feedback loop is short and real.
You'll also be working at a genuine inflection point. The platform that started with crowdfunding now evolving institutional scale.
You'd be working at the forefront of emerging-market investment management, democratising finance and putting capital into green projects that pay a triple bottom line: profit, people and planet. Twice a year the whole company gets together for a cabin retreat - usually in Sweden or near our second office in Nairobi, with new locations on the horizon and there's the chance to travel to emerging markets and see the solar projects you're helping fund first-hand.
**What We're Looking For**
- Genuinely interested in investing - you invest yourself, you follow what moves markets and what moves people to act
- Entrepreneurial - you see a gap and fill it; you don't wait for someone to hand you a plan
- Clear communicator - you write well, explain simply, and can connect with a 25-year-old first-time investor and a 50-year-old saver in the same breath
- Commercially wired - you think in funnels, conversion rates, and user journeys; you're comfortable with data
- Comfortable with ambiguity - the mandate is wide and not everything is fully defined; that energises you, not the opposite
**Nice to have**
- Experience in finance or fintech
- Background in growth, product, or distribution of financial products
- Familiarity with alternative finance platforms, crowdfunding or from a traditional finance firm
**The team**
You'll report to Christoffer (CEO) and work day-to-day with Elizabeth (investor support), Thadeus (portfolio admin) and the tech team.
